Minister Edwin Tong SC, Singapore’s Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and Second Minister for Law, is slated to inaugurate the International Chamber of Commerce’s International Court of Arbitration Asia Pacific Conference on June 28, 2024.
The conference, now in its 9th iteration, is the Asia Pacific’s leading event for international arbitration professionals, providing unmatched networking, educational, and career development opportunities. The Sofitel Singapore City Centre will host over 200 esteemed arbitrators, mediators, legal counsels, attorneys, and business leaders from 15 countries, fostering an environment of connection, learning, and best practices exchange.
This year’s conference, themed “Looking ahead: shaping the international arbitration ecosystem,” will feature Minister Edwin Tong SC discussing the economic trajectory of the Asia-Pacific region and the critical role of dispute resolution in enhancing cross-border commerce, business opportunities, and regional economic expansion.
A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the ICC-Jus Connect-McCann report titled ‘The Truth About Cross-Cultural B2B Relationships,’ a comprehensive study on global commercial contracts and dispute attitudes. The research, which includes interviews with 1,700 individuals from nine countries and analysis of 20,000 data points, reveals significant cultural variances in contract negotiation and conflict management. The session aims to equip participants with insights to navigate the changing landscape and influence the future of international arbitration. 😊
